GREATLY appreciated info from Gov't. Airline Security Agent, Experienced flyer w/ pet or Airline personel?
k guys..... I have heard from a few of you regarding your personal opion, and appreciate your personal wisdom. However, I would greatly appreciate any feedback from experienced traveler w/ pet, Gov't. Airport Security Agent or Airline Employee.
You can travel with a child on your lap for free until they are 2 (maybe 3 if they are small), but it cost .00 one way (0.00 round trip) to bring a small cat in a soft sided, pet travel bag as my carry on for a one segment, 1 1/2 hr. flight.
Seriously, for .00 he could have his own ticketed seat.
My question: When going through Airport security, officials are require to look at your ticket and ID. When you have a pet w/ you, do they look for a "special" marking on my ticket that designates I have already made arrangements & paid the airline or do the care?

i am more knowledgeable with the in and outs of intl travels. infants or lap child all need a "ticket" when they travel internationally and its never free. when u let the airline know u are traveling with a "pet in cabin" there will be a special note in the record indicating ur special need. pets on a international flight need updated vaccine and rabbie shots from vets and they usually have to have a wait time of one week then they can fly; there are pet embargos going to certain destination and bring a "pet in cabin" is usually charge as a third additional luggage allowance and its price varied depend upon destination. all this being said, u can tell international travel for pets is pricey. just within this year i have personally seen 3 pet passports and from what the owners informed me it is only available in europe. it contains a picture of the pet, owner’s name and it lets other know if the dog or cat has a computer chip as an id plus updated rabbies shots. a couple of years back airline used to tag the pet travel bag like they do with infant stroller at the gate. if u do get thru security and arrived at the boarding gate area a customer service agent will usually double check with u to see if ur taken care of in regards to your pet.
